Practice

The veterinary profession is in a state of change at present. New regulations from Autumn 2005 give you, the clients, differing options for the purchase of prescription only medicines for your pets; a new Veterinary Surgeons Act is thought to be in the pipeline which may alter the way we work and give our qualified nurses more responsibility, and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons now have a new Practice Standards Scheme designed to give accurate information about the facilities that can be expected from a registered veterinary practice.

We are pleased to announce that we have Tier 3 status in the scheme, which means that we have to meet the highest standards of care, sterility, cleanliness and health and safety and maintain a 24 hour on site presence for the care of in-patients, along with having up to date diagnostic, monitoring and laboratory equipment.

Our aim is to achieve a working environment where you can be sure your pet is as safe as possible when undergoing surgical procedures or needing a stay in hospital.

We realise that as facilities and treatments get more sophisticated it can be easy to lose sight of the personal contact we have always tried to maintain with our clients and patients; we do our utmost to maintain this personal level of care and count many of our long term clients as friends. New clients and their pets can always be confident of receiving the same friendly welcome.
