Euthanasia and pet cremation

The last farewell is always a difficult and distressing time for everyone - all out staff are well aware of this and try to make that farewell as easy as possible. We know, and fully understand why, a lot of clients prefer a house call, please ask if you would prefer this option. We have made our third consulting room into a quiet room so that those clients wishing to spend some time with their pet are able to do so in peace without feeling rushed in any way.

We use the services of The Pet Crematorium - leaflets are always available at reception which describe their very extensive services.

Drugs which are not product licensed

There are a lot of human drugs that are extremely useful in the treatment of your pets and, in many cases, there is not an alternative drug available with a licence for use in domestic animals. We therefore might well recommend using such a drug “off licence” for treatment of a particular condition - in these circumstances you will be asked to sign a consent form for the use of such drugs on a one-off basis. Most of these off licence drugs are widely used in the Veterinary field and are known to be safe. However, any known side effects will be discussed with you.

ANY DRUG DISPENSED (whether on or off licence) WILL BE DISPENSED WITH INSTRUCTIONS FOR USAGE AND, IF APPLICABLE, SPECIAL STORAGE – PLEASE HANDLE ALL DRUGS CAREFULLY (particularly if you know yourself to be allergic to some drugs) and MAKE SURE THEY ARE COMPLETELY OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN. IF YOU HAVE ANY MEDICATION LEFT OVER WE WILL BE HAPPY TO DISPOSE OF IT SAFELY AT NO COST TO YOU.
